Wine
growing skills down to the third generation
In 1959, Matthias Handler, a Cooper, began to produce wine in Mönchhof.
More than 90% of the barrels he produced at that time are still in use today,
a constant reminder to his son Walter, who rebuilt the Handler vineyard with
his own hands in 1974, of his father’s barrel making skills.
Today
the third generation, his grandson Walter Junior, carries on the family tradition.
His aim is to combine always successfully the heritage of his ancestors fathers
with the requirements of the 3rd millennium.
