A wine tradition into the
third millennium
The tradition of noble wines is almost as old as the history of mankind
itself. Already, for many people wine is the drik of gods. The Celts produced
wine in the Mönchhof region and the Romans continued the tradition.
Records of a gift of land in Monchof, from the Hungarian King Andreas II
to the Cistercian monks in 1217 confirm a history of wine growing which
has continued to the present day.
